KY: Taylor Regional Hospital phone lines still down after reported cyberattack on Monday

Posted on January 29, 2022 by Dissent

Taylor Regional Hospital issued an urgent notice on Tuesday about an attack that occurred on Monday, January 24.  Concerningly, it sounds like the situation hasn’t improved much since then as a banner notice reads “URGENT NOTICE – All phone lines at the hospital and hospital-owned provider offices are currently down….”

From TRH’s website:

TRH’s systems, including our phone systems, are currently down as we investigate a cyber security incident. We are working to restore our systems quickly and safely. Please bring your current medications to any previously-scheduled appointments.

Laboratory Services: Until further notice, routine outpatient labs will only be performed daily from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Chemo and STAT orders will be accepted if needed. All patients will be required to bring a WRITTEN order.

Patients who are receiving lab draws for outpatient procedures should expect longer than normal wait times. We appreciate your patience as our staff work diligently to meet everyone’s needs.

WALK-IN CLINIC COVID TESTING: Due to the system-wide outage, we are unable to schedule COVID testing as previously communicated; we are still testing at The Walk-In Clinic between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. We will test during this time as long as our allocated tests are available.

Please check back often for additional updates to this list. We appreciate your patience as we work to return to normal operations.

No ransomware group has publicly claimed responsibility for the attack and TRH has not identified this as a ransomware incident, although it sounds like one.
