UPDATE ON SERVICE IMPACTS: WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20, 2022
The Unified Government has been working through a comprehensive assessment of the impact of the recent cybersecurity attack on our systems and services. Work to restore services is underway. As of this afternoon, the following services are impacted:
- Appraiser’s Office: If you have submitted an appeal to your 2022 appraisal, your appointment with the Office of the Appraiser may be rescheduled. Please call 913-573-8400 with any questions.
- District Attorney: Some services may be delayed. Please contact Jonathan Carter at 913-573-2849 for any updates.
- District Court: The District Court is currently not accepting e-filings. If you need to file something, please come to the Courthouse (710 N. 7th Street, KCK, 66101) or send your paperwork via fax:
- Civil Clerk: 913-573-4134
- Criminal Clerk: 913-573-8177
- Juvenile Clerk: 913-573-4194
- Limited Action Clerk: 913-573-4135
- Probate Clerk: 913-573-4136
- Motor Vehicles: The State of Kansas has suspended all motor vehicle services with the Unified Government. We will provide an update as soon as these services resume.
- Procurement: Any bids in process will be delayed. If you have questions about submitting a proposal, you may call 913-573-5440.
- Sheriff’s Office: Booking confirmations online are not available. If you have any questions, please call 913-573-2861.
Several departments do not have any access to email so you may see a delayed response time. We appreciate your patience as we continue to address the impact of this attack. The community is encouraged to check back with us as we provide ongoing updates on the availability of various services. ONGOING INVESTIGATION WILL ASSESS FULL IMPACT OF THE ATTACK ON OUR SYSTEMS AND SERVICES
This weekend the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas was subject to a cybersecurity attack to its data centers. The Unified Government has been working diligently to restore services and data access.
We encourage community members to continue to check out our website wycokck.org or call 3-1-1 for updates on services impacted.
This is a fluid situation with an ongoing assessment of the damage underway. We are actively working with the US Department of Homeland Security, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Mid-America Regional Council cybersecurity task force to determine what data, if any, may have been compromised.
We anticipate some services may be impacted. The Unified Government website is still accessible, and we will be providing updates as they are available.
