NZ: Patient details compromised in cyber attack on health provider Pinnacle

Stuff reports:

A cyber attack has compromised patient details kept by a large Waikato and Bay of Plenty health provider.

Health Minister Andrew Little confirmed there has been a cyber attack against Pinnacle Health.

The primary health provider operates dozens of GP practices handling tens of thousands of patients.

When are people going to stop calling breaches or scrapes a “wake up call?” We have all been getting wake up calls for years now and should have woken up already.

Pinnacle reports that services impacted include the Pinnacle group regional offices, and Primary Health Care Ltd (PHCL) practices across Taranaki, Rotorua, Taupō-Tūrangi, Thames-Coromandel and Waikato.
