A question for OnniForums (UPDATED)

Posted on June 19, 2023 by Dissent

Please see important update  below this post.

As DataBreaches previously reported, this site had received an email from OnniForums about Exposed.vc but the email had no reply option.  Still curious and seeking answers about claims made in the email, I joined OnniForums, and found a post that mentioned my reporting on them by @DataBroker:

Who OnnifForums might be is unknown to DataBreaches, but the correspondent claimed, “The forum picked a fight with Onniforums and it was brought down iMMediately-”

Why or how Exposed allegedly picked a fight with OnniForums was not explained, and there was no way to reply to the email to ask. But according to the correspondent, the sale of the forum ownership was allegedly a coverup for the fact that the forum had been hacked.

I replied to the post (or tried to) today:

Yes, I reported that, and I’d still like to understand why/how.  How or why did “Impotent” pick a fight with OnniForums?  And why did OnniForums also then leak BreachForumsVC?

But when I clicked “Post reply,” I learned that I was Banned.  It was my very first reply and I had no other posts. I was banned, it seems, for “Spam” and the ban will never be lifted.

I was banned for asking a serious question?  Is OnniForums so lame that they are unwilling to explain their actions? That’s a shame. Or was the ban just a mistake or accident? I hope the latter is the explanation.

So OnniForums, if you read this and want to have a serious discussion,  you can email me at breaches@proton[.]me or find me on TG at @DissentDoe. I’d still like to understand why you have attacked two different sites now.

Updates: Shortly after I posted this, I received an email from Dkota, who apologized for the ban and explained that their antispam system was a tad sensitive. He then promptly unbanned my account.  I offered to remove my post entirely or to leave it up with an update, and he chose this option. He also answered my questions about the attacks on Exposed.vc and BreachForums.vc and I’ll be reporting more on that soon. In subsequent PMs on OnnniForums, he told me that he was not the person who had first emailed my site about OnniForums attacking Exposed.vc, and that it was probably a forum member.
