The National Identity Management Commission of Nigeria (NIMC) has refuted reports of a database breach as misleading.
This statement was made by Mr. Kayode Adegoke, Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC, on Saturday in Abuja.
Adegoke assured that Nigerians’ data has not been compromised and emphasized that the commission has not authorized any website or entity to sell or misuse the National Identification Number (NIN) or other sensitive information.
He identified several websites, including idfinder.com.ng, verify.ng, championtech.com.ng, trustyonline.com, and anyverify.com, as unauthorized data harvesters.
