Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation and Joe’s Club continue to leak sensitive and disturbing images

Posted on July 13, 2024July 13, 2024 by Dissent

CAUTION:  This post contains some images showing adults with bruises or injuries. The images may be upsetting or disturbing.

In October 2023, DataBreaches was contacted by a moderator for BreachForums. He had come across an exposed database and seeing how sensitive it was, contacted this site to see if we could alert those responsible for the database to lock it down.

The data appeared to belong to the Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation (“BAF”) and Joe’s Club.

DataBreaches tried to get them to lock down the data.

And tried.

And tried.

And tried.

Phone calls resulted in no ability to leave messages for voice mailboxes that were reportedly filled. Emails to the email address on the website and to Timothy Timmermann’s personal gmail account were ignored. The BreachForums moderator even tried calling Timmermann personally, to no avail.

DataBreaches also contacted the Florida Department of Children and Families, gave them the link to the exposed database, and showed them some of the images. They never responded.

Eight months later, the data have not been locked down. They appear to have been online since September 2023, and will continue to be publicly available unless someone gets through to these folks and gets them to get off their a**es and lock down the data.

The following are just some of the dozens of photos of frail or vulnerable adults. Some images show injuries and bruises, while others show full faces. Some show a name tag with the adult’s first name and last initial.

DataBreaches has redacted some of the following images somewhat, but they are still disturbing. How are these people getting so injured and why are some of these injuries apparently old and not properly treated?  Are these photos just for Joe’s Club liability protection to show that people arrive with injuries and the injuries are not incurred there?  Either way, photos of identifiable people should be locked down.

If you think photos like this should be secured and that there are adults who may not be getting the healthcare they need or the safety protection they need, please jump in and try to help. If you are a journalist in the Melbourne area of Florida or who covers non-profit agencies in Florida, maybe you can get involved and expose this so that it gets addressed.

If you do try to help, thank you, and please let me know.
