UK: All outpatient appointments cancelled as Arrowe Park Hospital hit with ‘cyber attack’

Wirral University Teaching Hospital Trust said the incident began on Monday evening (November 25), with staff members at the hospital telling LiverpoolWorld that a “cyber attack” had caused the computer systems to go down.

The Trust – which comprises Arrowe Park Hospital, Clatterbridge Hospitals and the Wirral Women and Children’s Hospital – confirmed that a “major incident” had been declared at “for cyber security reasons.”

Sharing an update on social media on Tuesday (November 26), a spokesperson for Wirral University Teaching Hospital Trust said: “All outpatients scheduled today are cancelled. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will contact affected patients as soon as possible to rearrange.

No ransomware group seems to have claimed responsibility for this as yet.
