A Bennett College official said today that someone hacked a computer in the business office the weekend of Feb. 13, accessing personal information of potentially 1,100 employees and students.
DeQuan Jones, director of information technology, said he believes it is the first time that personal information has been hacked at the all-women’s college.
The breach occurred at a single computer, which has now been secured by adding encryption software and changing the locks to the office where it is located, he said. Extra cameras also have been installed.
