Another luxury brand has been hacked. This time it’s Cartier. And before your brain starts racing back to the recent disclosures of breaches involving Dior and Tiffany no, Cartier is not another luxury LVMH brands. Cartier is owned by Richemont. SecurityWeek reports:
According to a notification sent to affected clients obtained by SecurityWeek, the compromised data includes names, email addresses, and countries of residence. Cartier emphasized that no passwords, credit card numbers, or banking information were involved in the breach.
There have been a lot of high-end brands breaches recently in Europe and the U.S., and the attacks do not appear to all be the work of one group. While DragonForce has been identified as responsible for the M&S, Harrods, and Co-Op breaches in the U.K., they have not claimed any responsibility for the Adidas, Victoria’s Secret, Dior, Tiffany, and now, Cartier breaches.
