DPA reports:
A cyberattack on Swiss hospital group AMEOS may have exposed sensitive patient and staff data, the company said on Monday.
The attack, which took place two weeks ago, caused significant disruption across the group’s German operations. The company described the episode as a targeted assault on its IT infrastructure.
In a statement, AMEOS said that it cannot rule out the possibility that personal data – including contact details – could be misused or shared online.
AMEOS says it operates more than 100 facilities at over 50 locations and treats over 500,000 patients annually, making it one of the largest private hospital groups across Switzerland, Germany and Austria.
