Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana reports that 3,000 patients’ names were inadvertently exposed online after an employee gave a presentation elsewhere and the presentation was subsequently uploaded to that institution’s web site. Anyone delving into the files could have uncovered patients’ names.
Other personal info, such as Social Security numbers, medical and payment information was not available. Furlow went on to say that Schneck was able to get the presentation removed from the web and search engine Google has removed all cached information from the Internet.
