The Methodist Theological School in Ohio notified the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office that a laptop stolen on October 13 from a locked off-campus site contained personal information on “some individuals with a connection to MTSO.”
The personal information for any one individual may have included name, date of birth, Social Security number, letter grades received in completed courses, and financial payments received. No financial account numbers were stored on the laptop, however.
In their November 10 letter, MTSO reports that they became aware of the theft on October 15 and that they believe it was an opportunistic theft for the hardware. The total number of individuals affected was not indicated, but all individuals were offered free credit monitoring services.
