Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon describes itself as a “close-knit, Christ-centered campus with amazing staff and faculty, an affordable tuition less than $17,000, and a culture of authentic Christian service to the city – and the world.” While that may sound admirable, apparently it meant nothing to a burglar who stole one of their laptops from an employee’s home. The laptop was one of a number of items tolen.
By letter dated January 19, ID Experts notified the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office that the laptop stolen from an employee’s home on January 3 contained unencrypted information of 1,536 students, including their names, addresses, dates of birth, telephone numbers, and Social Security Numbers.
The college was made aware of the theft on January 4.
IDExperts has created a web site about the incident at www.WPCPrivacy.com.
