Adriana M. Chavez reports:
A 20-year-old Mississippi man accused of hacking into the El Paso Independent School District’s computer system last year is scheduled to plead guilty later this month. Court records show Kaleb Harper Ketchens will plead guilty at 10 a.m. Sept. 19 before Senior U.S. District Judge David Briones.

As a reminder, this was a case that infuriated me because the district claimed it had no liability for the hack and could do nothing for those affected. Not only had the district failed to prevent the hack, it had failed to detect it and only learned of it when it was notified by a computer security firm. I don’t know if any irate parents ever challenged the district on their claim by suing them.
