Kristian Silva reports that a Queensland man accused of hacking a US-based video game company’s computer network has been charged after a joint investigation between local police and the FBI. But wait, there’s not much more that they can report, it seems:
For privacy reasons police said they couldn’t release the name of the video game company hacked or the man accused of hacking them.
The man has been charged with computer hacking and misuse, fraud, and property offences. Police allege the offences occurred between July 14 and 26, 2013.
Maybe we’ll find out more after he appears in court April 8. There were a number of gaming companies hacked in July of last year, so I’m not going to speculate as to which one this might be, but feel free to place your bets in the Comments section.
Updated: Graham Cluley reports it was League of Legends, which was actually my first non-published guess. 🙂
