Vibram is notifying some customers that their third-party hosting provider was hacked and that customers making online purchases at vibramfivefingers.com between June 6 and July 7 may have had their credit card numbers compromised.
As a result of the breach, the manufacturer and retailer of five-finger running shoes is taking its hosting business to another provider, and is offering customers one year of free credit monitoring with Experian.
You can read the letter being mailed tomorrow to affected customers here (pdf).
This latest incident occurred less than one month after Vibram reached a settlement agreement in a class-action lawsuit accusing Vibram of misrepresenting scientific research and making other false or deceptive marketing claims about their FiveFinger product. Vibram did not admit any guilt or liability in the settlement.
