- In a follow-up to a case reported last year, former Texas lottery worker Joseph Mueggenborg was arrested and charged with illegally “possessing” personal information on 140 lottery winners and employees, including their names and Social Security numbers. - Jonathan Kelly, a Palm Beach County School District police officer faces ten counts of identity theft and single count of grand theft for allegedly using school computers to steal the indentities of nearly two dozen students and teachers. More.
- Marsha Billock-Strahm was indicted on 11 counts of aggravated identity theft, identity theft, false credit card application and theft of United Sates mail. stemming from her time of employment as a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. More.
- As many as 1,000 people who used ATM cards to buy gas at an Arco station in Redondo Beach have become victims of thieves who intercepted their personal information and withdrew $200,000 from their bank accounts. A former employee is suspected of the crime. More.
