A few days ago, I noted a privacy breach that left the victim considering moving out of the area. Here’s yet another insider privacy breach involving a hospital where the affected patient is considering moving. Michelle Duff reports:
Hutt Hospital receptionists nosed through the medical notes of a surrogate mother 20 times but were allowed to keep their jobs.
The Upper Hutt mother said at least one woman gossiped her personal information, and she is disgusted they have not been held responsible.
Gaylene Murdoch-Kurth is so stressed she now struggles to sleep without pills, prefers not to leave the house and has considered moving out of Upper Hutt after the repeated privacy breaches.
Read more on Stuff. I think the hospital has erred by not dismissing the involved staff and letting everyone know that they, too, will be fired if they snoop.
