Elliot Health System is notifying some of its patients after four computer work stations with unencrypted names, addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, limited health information such as billing codes, Social Security number for at least one patient, and Tufts Health Plan insurance number for at least one patient were stolen.
EHS became aware of the breach on March 27. Those affected by the breach were notified on May 19, and the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office was notified on May 20.
WMUR adds that the computers were being transported on their way to be destroyed, and that analysis of the contents of the computers revealed that 1,213 patients had some information on the computers.
