A 36-year-old West Palm Beach woman who was the the leader of an identity theft ring has been sentenced to 10 years and one month in prison, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Monday.
Prosecutors said Jennifer Robinson, 36, organized a scheme to steal the identities of patients at a medical facility in Central Florida. Those identities reportedly were then used to file fraudulent income tax returns in the patients’ names, and to fraudulently obtain credit cards.
Robinson pleaded guilty to one count to commit wire fraud, 11 counts of stealing government monies, 12 counts of aggravated identity theft and one count of unauthorized access device fraud. She was sentenced 121 months in prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release.
