Hacking is not an easy task but for Himalaya Mohanty, a 19-year old student currently pursuing his ITI course in Odisha, it was just a fun which turned into nightmare. Mohanty allegedly hacked into the EPABX of a private company in the city using his own mobile phone, which resulted in financial loss to the company. The police investigated the case and tracked Mohanty using cyber cell. He was arrested by the police.
In November 2015, Mohanty hacked the EPABX code of Lloyd Electrical and Engineering Limited in Hyderabad, resulting in a bill of Rs. 60 lakh. While investigating the case, Inspector Mohd. Riyazuddin attachd to Cyberabad police station verified the computer details and revealed that few persons hacked into EPABX code and posted the data online, using which several internet users made free phone calls.
