Maintenance Note

Posted on July 28, 2011 by Dissent

Regular readers may have noticed that there have been no updates since yesterday. That’s when I got an emergency call that my elderly mom had been rushed to the hospital.

I will be mostly offline for the next few days or week. Eventually, I’ll get my blogs updated and email responded to.

Im the meantime, thanks for your patience, and thanks Life Alert, some kind NYC paramedics, and the surgeons and staff at NY Presbyterian Hospital.

Think good thoughts, please, folks.

Thanks, Tiffany. She’s my number one priority. I hope all my readers use this opportunity to think about whether they are prepared to help their parents should they need it. Our foresight in having conversations with our mother about her wishes and having her sign healthcare proxy forms and the like enabled me to avoid any HIPAA-privacy hassles and work with her doctors and staff at each decision point to ensure they had accurate information and she is getting all the care and rehabilitation services she needs to try to restore her to good health and an independent life.
