MOUNT DORA — A Mount Dora medical company caught an employee trying to sell patient information earlier this year, according to a statement sent Friday.
An apparent data breach at Aegis Medical Group, a Mount Dora-based healthcare network, was revealed to the group by the U.S. Secret Service Sept. 11 after they allegedly discovered the woman’s efforts to sell two patient records. Records may have included names, social security numbers, dates of birth, account numbers, mailing addresses and diagnoses, the company said.
