A Kelowna nurse has been suspended for breaching patient confidentiality rules.
According to the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), Sondra Bader admitted to her “practice issues” on July 20.
From the reporting, this case goes back to a 2019 incident involving access to one person’s records. This is an 8-day suspension with public naming and required re-training on ethics.
It is hard to understand the value of a very delayed brief suspension and public rebuke if there was one lapse 3 years ago. Is there something more to this case that has not been made clear?
