Argentina: More than 14,000 Reports Last Year
Between April 2020 and March 2021, the Specialized Cybercrime Prosecution Unit registered 14,583 reports of cases associated with cybercrime, a 465% increase over the previous year.
The #DatosEnFuga project attempts to improve security and data protection. It is an initiative of the organizations Democracia en Red, Fundación Vía Libre and the Observatory of Argentine Computer Law, which seeks to the State ensures cybersecurity standards and to stop criminally prosecuting those who identify, denounce, and report vulnerabilities.

Update: The Instituto Agrario Dominicano (IAD) Incident
Last week, DataBreaches reported that IAD had disclosed a ransomware incident by Quantum ransomware group. On September 1, Quantum added the incident to their leak site, claiming that they had stolen 1.1 TB of files.
CR: Junta De Proteccion Social
On September 1, Costa Rica’s Junta De Proteccion Social was added to LockBit 3.0’s leak site. LockBit claims to have about 7.8 GB of information.
