The College of the Desert has fallen victim to a second successful malware attack against its online network in as many years. In August 2020, the school experienced a malware attack that resulted in the college’s website being taken offline and its email system being disrupted. It is not known to DataBreaches whether any data from that incident was ever leaked. In 2014, however, the college had two email-involved breaches in June 2014. The first impacted employees; the second affected students.
