A cyber-attack breached the IT system at Arnprior Regional Health (ARH) on Dec. 21.
“Our team noticed unusual activity and acted immediately,” reads a statement on the hospital and nursing home’s website. “We have determined through our investigation that data connected with Arnprior Regional Health has been taken.”

ARH’s statement was posted on their website on December 21, and then updated December 27. It states, in part:
On December 21, 2021, Arnprior Regional Health learned of an unauthorized access to our IT system.
We have determined through our investigation that data connected with Arnprior Regional Health has been taken. We are investigating to determine what the data may include. We do know that the Electronic Health Record system was not impacted.
This incident has not impacted the delivery of healthcare or any services provided by Arnprior Regional Health including scheduled surgeries or procedures, community programs or long-term care. The Emergency Department remains open 24/7.
Denn’s report, dated January 17, adds:
ARH has not responded the Metroland’s requests to learn if the attacker or attackers still have access to the system, who they are, where the attack originated, and if they made contact with ARH.
