Feds: NYC Employee Stole Credit Card Info

The North Country Gazette reports that Evelyne Miracle, a former employee of the New York City Office of Vital Records has been arrested for stealing the credit card information of those who used credit cards to pay for copies of their birth certificates. The number of people victimized was not reported.

OH: Trash bins yield treasure trove for ID thieves

Paul Aker of The Columbus Dispatch reports that the Ohio Department of Public Safety is investigating how hundreds of documents containing names, Social Security numbers, drivers license numbers, and other personal information ended up in trash bins behind at least 10 state branches of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
