A diabetes device supplier hit by a data breach in mid-2019 is facing refined fraud claims in a potential class action in California after a court took issue with the basis of some original claims.
Fraud claims in the lawsuit against Solara Medical Supplies LLC, one of the largest direct-to-consumer suppliers of medical devices for diabetes, now focus on its privacy notice and patient bill of rights, according to a May 11 filing in federal court from lawyers for six individuals suing the company.

Solara had disclosed the breach in November, 2019, noting that it began with a phishing incident. At the time, they disclosed that the breach appeared to impact more than 110,000 employees and patients.
