Gems Education, the largest education operator in the UAE, faced a cyber attack that had a minimal impact on the group’s operations, the company said on Thursday.
The company said an investigation was under way. It has not yet confirmed whether any personal or financial data has been breached.

The attack was claimed by the AlphaV group, who posted a listing on their dark web leak site. It does not indicate how much data they claim to have exfiltrated but notes that it includes personal information. As alleged proof of that, they include a few screencaps: a passport, a birth certificate, and student and parent details for one student.
