A disgruntled ex-employee of Lucchese Boots plead guilty to one count of transmission of a program to cause damage to a computer in federal court after he hacked into the Lucchese computer network after he’d been fired and managed to shut down the company’s e-mail server and application server in the September.
The computer breach happened on September 1, 2016 after Joe Vito Venzor was terminated from his position at the company’s help desk earlier in the day. He admitted in federal court on Thursday that he intentionally logged onto the network and shut down the entire e-mail server and system files.
