Available news reports read by DataBreaches do not indicate any prior relationship between Taylor and the victim or any motive for the crime. Nor do the reports indicate whether he used department computers in his actions, but it sounds like it was relatively easy for them to identify him from the results of communications warrants that were issued. But of course, these are just allegations at this point and people are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
