Greg Picazo reports a City of Houston breach of current and former city employees’ information that will leave you muttering to yourself, “inexcusable:”
The names, social security numbers and other financial information was stored in a locked filing cabinet sold by the city at auction in February.
Bad enough already, right? How did they not hear things rattling around in what should have been an emptied cabinet if they were selling it? And when someone responsibly tried to report their mistake to them, what happened then?
Norris says he called the city to make workers aware of the situation, but says no one returned his calls.
