James Ashley reports:
The personal authorized affairs of dozens of the world’s largest music and movie stars — Girl Gaga, Elton John, Robert DeNiro, and Madonna amongst them — are in danger of publicity following a ransomware assault on a excessive profile New York leisure legislation agency.
Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks have reportedly been hit by the REvil ransomware (also referred to as Sodinokibi), with the attackers threatening to launch up to 756GB of stolen knowledge in 9 staged releases.

Looking at the Sokinokibi attackers’ web site, they list Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks with a a link to http://gsmlaw.com/ (DataBreaches.net noted that neither gsmlaw.com nor gsmspc.com were https). The attackers also list some of the firm’s prestigious clients with screencaps from a few documents purportedly relating to Christina Aguilera, Brandon Hamlin, and Madonna’s 2019/2020 World Tour.
“Contracts, telephones, email, personal correspondence, NDAs and more… (756Gb)” the attackers warn.
The law firm has not issued any statement on their web site as of the time of this posting, and did not respond immediately to a request for statement. And between this morning and now, they also seem to have removed links from their home page to the contents of their website.
This post will be updated if a statement is received.
