Today, September 29, Schneck Medical Center learned that it was a victim of a cyberattack that affected organizational operations. Out of an abundance of caution, access to all IT applications within our facilities were suspended. We are in the process of enhancing our IT security protocols. Third-party security partners have also been engaged to restore operations as quickly as possible.
Most services at Schneck are unaffected. Patients should arrive for scheduled services and appointments, unless otherwise contacted. Questions about appointments or treatment plans should be directed to your healthcare provider. For Schneck Urology and Schneck Pulmonology questions, please call 812-522-0530. For Schneck Endocrinology and Schneck Neurology questions, please call 812-523-5202.
These types of situations take time to fully resolve. We are working with IT security experts to methodically investigate the situation, are in the process of notifying law enforcement, and are taking appropriate actions to safely and quickly resolve any disruption to our systems.
As a team of dedicated and caring medical professionals, we understand that healthcare is about people taking care of people. We remain committed to continuing to provide exceptional care to our communities and will provide additional updates as appropriate.
