Listeners might not know it, but thousands of people in radio stations across the nation are working around the clock to get commercials on the air after they were targeted by Russian hackers.
“It started with an email on Sunday night that you really don’t want to get,” Dan Dubonnet said.

Marketron is a national company that helps companies manage their advertisements using automation to make a once lengthy process much faster. But a cyberattack launched by the Russian outfit BlackMatter is impacting thousands of Marketron’s customers, including several stations in Vermont.

DataBreaches.net does not see any listing for Marketron on BlackMatter’s dedicated leak site as of the time of this publishing, which may simply mean that the threat actors are giving their victim more time in the hopes of getting a payment.
