A Sutton woman will undergo a psychological evaluation after admitting in court yesterday that she used personal information from a cancer patient’s stolen medical records to buy about $2,500 worth of collectible coins from a home shopping network.
Charlotte A. Boehm, 55, formerly of Hopedale and Milford, used records stolen from Milford Regional Medical Center to set up a credit account in the cancer patient’s name in 2005 and fraudulently purchased a silver proof coin set valued at $2,493 from ShopNBC, according to Assistant District Attorney John A. O’Leary.
Those charges are not the only ones she is facing.
In the pending case, Ms. Boehm allegedly used others’ credit card information to buy about $70,000 worth of jewels from GemsTV. Prosecutors say the purchases were made with the credit card numbers of customers of Potpourri Inc., a catalog and Web retail company, where Ms. Boehm had held a sales position. Ms. Boehm also was found to be in possession of medical records stolen from three area hospitals, according to Mr. O’Leary.
