Federal authorities plan to take over an investigation into how credit- and debit-card numbers are being stolen and used to make purchases.
There have been 50 to 60 victims locally, and they all have been patrons at Vallarta, a Mexican restaurant on Sorrento Road, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Ted Roy said.
Roy said the victims’ credit- and debit-card numbers were somehow stolen after eating at the restaurant.
