As a follow-up to a story posted last week:
There could be more victims in the identity theft investigation of a dozen senior citizens including some deceased patients, this according to the Visalia Police Department. Investigators say a former intern at Kaweah Manor Convalescent Hospital in Visalia stole patient records and used the information to open new credit cards in their names.
“There are some situations where you can do everything right and still become a victim and that’s what happened in this case,” said Lt. Steve Puder with the Visalia Police Department.
On Monday, Ratoni Brown and her live-in partner 48-year old Paul Lopez pleaded not guilty to twenty one counts of identity theft, possession of stolen property and financial abuse among other charges.
