Four suspects are under arrest and more arrests are expected after Placer County Sheriff’s detectives broke up a large-scale identity theft ring Tuesday.
The suspects allegedly stole at least $100,000 from victims across the county, according to sheriff’s department officials.
Jayson P. Krack, 29, of Citrus Heights, and James M. Marich, 45, Shelly McCrory, 40, and Andrew Clifford, 23, all of Auburn, were all taken into custody at the Placer County Jail on dozens of charges related to stealing financial information.
The suspects have allegedly been stealing victims’ financial information by breaking into mailboxes and cars, taking checkbooks, new checks sent from banks, credit card and bank account statements, according to Detective Dan Meier.
