PA: Hackers Steal Washington Co. Customers’ Credit Card Info

Posted on December 9, 2011 by Dissent

The Secret Service is investigating after several customers of a Washington County restaurant had their credit card information stolen by hackers from overseas.

Beginning Dec. 4, Jumpers Junction customers began reporting their credit card information as being stolen. Investigators said each person had recently paid for their food with a credit card at the restaurant.

“We noticed that people had reported that their credit cards had been compromised, so we did an investigation internally to make sure that it was not any of our employees and it’s not any of our employees,” said Jumpers Junction accountant Carolyn Miller.

Miller said after speaking with the Secret Service, she learned that someone hacked into their computer systems and stole the dozens of customers’ credit card numbers.
