AZ: Woman admits identity theft at Oro Valley medical office

Kim Smith reports:

A local woman admitted Monday that she stole the identities of 15 patients while working at an Oro Valley oncology office.

Veronica Astorga Carmona could receive probation when sentenced next month or between two and 8.75 years in prison.

On June 25, a cancer patient gave his Visa credit card to Carmona following an appointment at Arizona Oncology, 1521 E. Tangerine Rd., according to court records.

Now this is chutzpah: Smith reports that “Knowing felons aren’t allowed to vote, Carmona asked [the judge] to postpone her sentencing hearing until after Nov. 6.

The judge set it for October 1.

    She was hoping that all of the patients would die before she sas found out.
