On November 13, media reported that about 300 people in Lake Saint Louis, Missouri had become victims of credit card fraud. The next day, media reported that the source of the stolen data may have been an ATM skimmer. And on November 22, media reported that two suspects had been apprehended in Omaha on November 15 on similar charges.
This case is a good example of what can be accomplished quickly when law enforcement agencies coordinate their efforts and the public is alert and involved.
