There’s an update to an ID theft case involving rogue bank employees at a number of banks in New York. The case was previously reported on this site. Matt Spillane now reports:
Tyrone “Reece” Lee and Anthony “Sug” Davis impersonated Westchester residents in their last gig, but their names won’t be mistaken at their next stop.
The Bronx residents were handed prison terms on Thursday for their roles in an identity-theft ring that stole more than $850,000, Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman said in a statement. The two men, who targeted bank customers in Westchester and throughout the tri-state area, were sentenced by Westchester County Judge Barry Warhit.
Lee, the “ringleader” of the scam, was sentenced to 4 1/2 to nine years in state prison, and Davis, who made the fraudulent documents, was sentenced to two to six years, Schneiderman said.
