A Phenix City woman was arrested Tuesday based on an April 28 federal grand jury indictment charging her with conspiracy to defraud the United States, wire fraud and aggravated identity theft, federal authorities announced.
Talashia Hinton, also known as LayLay and LaLa, was charged in the indictment with one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States, five counts of wire fraud and five counts of aggravated identity theft, according to a statement from Acting Assistant Attorney General Caroline D. Ciraolo of the U.S. Justice Department’s Tax Division and U.S. Attorney George L. Beck Jr. of the Middle District of Alabama.
