A young man from McCordsville accused in what federal authorities described as an international and multimillion-dollar hacking scheme is facing sentencing after pleading guilty to a conspiracy charge.
Austin Alcala, a graduate of Fishers High School, is one of three suspects charged with 18 felonies, including fraud, identity theft and copyright infringement, in a federal indictment unsealed last fall. Authorities say they stole $100 million in Apache helicopter flight simulation software from the U.S. Army and Xbox game software from Microsoft Corp. for several games, including “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3” and “Gears of War 3.”
