Plymouth University lawyers are investigating a serious data protection breach which saw the salaries of more than 240 senior staff leaked.
A confidential spreadsheet was sent to an incorrect e-mail address in error back in June 2015.
The incident was reported to the Information Commissioner’s Office at the time, and no further action was taken after the recipient promised the document had been deleted.
But the file was forwarded to The Herald this week from an unknown source.
