UK: Sacked IT technician who hacked former school sentenced

Posted on June 28, 2018 by Dissent

Eagle Radio reports:

A former employee of a private school in Leatherhead has been found guilty of a number of cyber-crime offences investigated by Surrey Police.

Donald Bart-Williams was sacked from his role in the IT department at St Johns School, but used his specialist skills and knowledge to hack into the school system and disrupt their security.

Bart-Williams did not attend court, and was found guilty in his absence of fraud, computer misuse and burglary following a one-week trial at Guildford Crown Court.

On 25 June he was sentenced to four and a half years in prison.
