Robert Sanchez reports:
Personal and tax information for more than 1,700 current and former employees of the College of DuPage may have been impacted by a recent data security breach, officials at the Glen Ellyn school said Monday.
President Brian Caputo said officials believe it’s unlikely the information contained in the 2018 W-2 forms of 1,755 current and former COD employees was obtained or used for fraudulent purposes.
Read more on Daily Herald, but you won’t read anything about what happened or how. Neither Daily Herald nor InfoSecurity, who also reported on this, seem to have been able to get any details from the college. As the latter reports:
An investigation into how the breach occurred is yet to produce any conclusive results. The college has not stated when the incident occurred or when it was discovered, nor shared any details regarding how the sensitive data came to be exposed.
