Mexico –  Quintana Roo Police officers arrested on Wednesday a man identified as Levis “N.”  He is suspected of stealing bank data and credit cards from users at ATMs in Cancun.

Mexico – Judicial Poder of Quintana Roo reported a cyberattack that left the Superior Court of Justice without email since Tuesday of this week. The incident was reported as a ransomware attack. The Judicial Power of Quintana Roo confirmed the ransomware attack and urged its employees not to open any email sent from domain tsj[dot]qroo or any other email with unsolicited attachments.

Brazil – On August 5, part of the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency‘s website was down because of an attempted cyberattack. According to ANP,  the systems were taken offline for cybersecurity risk assessment. The attack was detected on August 4.

“Part of ANP’s website is still offline, such as access to the Agency’s Systems and the address where you can consult fuel price surveys. The Electronic Process portal is also inaccessible.”  band.uol reported.

As of an August 8 press release from ANP, their work to restore the systems was still proceeding carefully. As of today, ANP has resumed operation of the Electronic Information System (SEI), but other systems remain unavailable.

Brazil- Câmara Municipal de Teresina website went offline after a reported cyberattack on the morning of August 8.  The Chamber’s other communication channels on Youtube, Instagram, and Facebook, continue to function normally. On August 12, DataBreaches observed that the site was back online.
